One of the best things to do is to buy a Revell "visible engine"model kit. It is available on the net. When you assemble it, you will learn more than most mechanics. It is an invaluable experience! They have a few different ones. You should get in touch with UTI, a study course for the finer cars. They have several campuses nation-wide. They have individual focusing courses on cars by Audi, Bmw, Mercedes, VW, Ford, etc. There you will learn about computer diagnostics and the proper way to repair fuel injected engines. Good luck!!
all I can tell you is hands on experiece is the way to go you can read about it all day long but until you put your hands on it you wont really understand, when you get through high school go to a tech school
break a few, goto the manual and if you already know the answer, go to the manual anyway.real world experience, goto a track and volunteer your time in the pits, might even learn something and see the races to boot.i kinda grew up in a shop, i hated it, i was not allowed to turn wrenches, just go get em,clean em, put them away and watch. learned alot like that.
