received certified letter, but defendant wrote out addresses and mailed them to me from our hometown. I thought lawyers had to mail them out themselves.
Anyone can send a certified letter - if it didn't come from a lawyer , then it's the same as a letter sent by a lay person, the "certified" is just so the sender can prove it was posted and received.
