How to express art through drawing?

How can you express art.
I have an exam, and my question is art. how can you express it through drawing? eg. painting, sketching...
 
Whew! This is a toughy. Art is expression. My feeling is that this is either an historical exam or an exam on how you might express yourself in art through a given medium. I'm not exactly sure what you mean.
