I have to write an essay for my English class (no less than 4000 words, and counts for about half my grade) and it's got to be "A comparative literary study of 3 books, exploring the theme of control." and I picked out 1984, Brave New World and The Handmaid's Tale.
Thing is I've never done a theme study before and I'm not quite sure how to go about it... I did mean to ask my teacher but she's been off a lot recently (and school's been off and on due to snow) and a draft is due in after half term finishes.
So my question is this; What do I write about for a theme study with these books? And how can I avoid telling the story too much... (It's apparently a bad habit I have with essay writing)
