How to exercise regularly with terrible work schedule?

I work a lot of hours, own my own house and go to school. I'm fairly tired most of the time and it's difficult because I have Rheumatoid arthritis. I would wish most for a regular sleep schedule, but any given week, any given day I will work First, Third or Second shift (Mostly Thirds) which Wears me out especially in combination with school and my health problems. I've been trying to get in shape by making myself go for a walk every time I get home and eating better, but this isn't enough and I want something a bit more rigorous so I can make my body aches at least worth it by getting in shape at the same time and hopefully lessening them. How do I make it fit into my schedule because I don't ever know when I will be tired or when I'm supposed to be tired because my schedule changes weekly and my shift changes daily?
