How to Effectively Write Answers to Score High in Exams?

I have always been a long-winded person, and tend to memorise the smallest details and take too much time up in writing everything out and not get to my point.

I have smart friends who score very high and I have noticed that they write very short answers.

Is being short-winded better than writing out too much? Because I always think that the longer and more I write, the more marks I will get.

Also, what are some other effective ways to present my answers so that I can score more for exams and tests? Thanks

Hi. Shorter answers have both advantages and disadvantages in learning situations. For test answers, shorter is definitely better. However if you are writing an essay or term paper, longer answers can make your writing have more weight and show that you have done your research. The best way to shorten your answers on tests is to write out the textbook answers and then practice re-writing them to achieve shorter answers. Hope this helps.
