How to edit the index.html file in freewebs template HELP???????????????????????????

ok so i downloaded a free template in order to upload it to my freewebs site. The problem is that when i upload the images and the index with the css file my webpage looks just as the index file!
Do i need to edit the index file?
HOW!
When i go to the site builder my webpage appears without the new template!
