You should shift the car with the rpm (rotations per minute) of the engine rather than the speed of the car. Use the tachometer, and for casual driving shift at around 2500 rpm. The car will red line at 6700 rpm. The "red line" is what you call the limit that the factory puts on how fast the engine can turn. For aggressive driving or on the track shift at the high rpm's, like in the 6000 range, but be careful not to be too harsh on your car continually. Be aware that the car will not allow you to down shift if you are currently at high rpm's. Your car has maximum power at the high rpm range, so if you are cruising at 2500 and you want a quick boost, down shift a gear or two and step on it. If you are a more spirited driver I also recommend synthetic motor oils. When you are stopped defiantly go down to first gear.
