How to draw manga(anime)?

I just started trying to draw manga with videos from MarkCrilley on youtube and i came across lots of problems while i was trying to follow along as he draws. I can't seem to find the right distance between most of my drawings and when i do get the eyes right i can't seem to get the chin and starting of the face right T.T this is really frustrating..... Can anyone give me some kinda way to measure because in some of his videos he doesn't show he just says about this "far" and i think how much is this far? Oh and i wanted to know if drawing was a talent or you can learn it by practice and tips from people? Because lately most of my friends aren't supporting me about drawing and say its a talent if your not born with it you won't be good at it ><.....Kinda put me down on my dream of being able to draw an anime char like Satella from Freezing...
