How to do a wire sculpture of a person?

I'm doing a major grade art assignment right now. Mind you, I don't really like art that much, and to be honest, I am one whose not skilled in art. We're doing sculptures. We're amateurs, so there will be no clay. We're going to make a wire base, then put paper mache, then cover it again with a clear paper or something, then paint. The main lesson is body proportions. i did the head, but I have no idea how to connect al the body parts together or even make it proportional. HELP ME PLEASE!
 
It is really hard to do unless you have extreme talent and patience. Please upload a pic of your sculpture once when you have completed it.
