Good afternoon, everybody, here's my question: when discussing "research interests" on a statement of objectives (or "of purpose," as it's sometimes known), how specific should one be? Are we talking hyper-specific, like, "I'd like to investigate the role of the hypothalamus in rage reactions among Asian men," or something more general, like, "I'm interested in the relationship between different brain structures and emotion?"
Any input would be superb, especially from current graduate students, or former graduate students. Again, the question: with how much detail should you describe your research interests in a statement of objectives/purpose?
