I have joined a NGO as a teaching voluteer. I have interacted with kids for a few days. These kids however are highly indiscipline. They answer back, talk in regional languages, dont do homework and care a damn about the learnings and education. Their parents do not help them in studies. The kids do household work. They sometimes even dont have lunch. They are very poor and their upbringing has been very hard. As a result they have become totally thick skinned. I tried talking to them one on one but that isnt helping. I tried shouting, screaming but to no avail.
What is the best way to discipline these kids so that they can learn and enjoy the learning?
