My daughter is almost 14months. She is really intelligent, and incredibly mischevious. Usually we love this about her, but at times, it is driving me crazy. Meal times are the worst. She completely ignores the word "no" She also knows she is not supposed to throw her food, but does it ALL the time. How can I get her to quit throwing the food, and what is proper discipline for this age. I know some people say they are too young at this age to discipline, but believe me, they know when they are acting up. I just don't know what to do about it...I am getting so frustrated at meal times. I try to give her things she likes, but even then, she'll just chuck everything on the floor. Please help!
I don't think she will understand a time out yet. And I often only put a couple of pieces on her tray at a time. Even if she sees me eat the food, it doesn't seem to help.
Trust me, we have tried saying "we don't throw food" and take her tray away. I have tried just ending the meal completely when she starts throwing it. Nothing seems to work.
How do you "make" them help you pick it up? I've tried that, and she just looks at me doing it, or then tries to eat it. So far, no luck having her help me pick it up
