How to describe a sport? (Which aspects can i talk about)?

I want to describe hockey...if that helps you...All I can think of is the equipment and the rules...I'm supposed to pretend I'm a tour guide at a museum. I'm supposed to talk about what hockey was like in the early 21 century..What should I talk about? It shouldn't be too detailed or too technical.
I think I'm also supposed to talk about how this sport is a important aspect of society. So..uh...Is hockey very popular...
