Has anyone found a way to deal with the sore chest/sternum feeling effectively? This seems to be the symptom I cannot get rid of. It is an irritated, sore, sometimes burining/itchy feeling in the chest. At these times it literally hurts to press or even just touch my chest (my shirt will sometimes hurt), It moves from side to side but is usually centered in the middle and slight to the left. I have ruled out cardiac causes so I know it is related to my reflux. I have tried DGL to soothe the esophagus but that only helps so much.

Tylenol also helps somewhat but I dont want to take tylenol every day (multiple times).

Any advice?

I have this but feel it's from the constant sniffling and chronic cough I have. Makes me sore all over! I use those OTC pain patches, which I'm sure are as bad as OTC meRAB.

Scott- I am going through the exact same thing right now. Right in the center of my chest. Ever since I quit smoking two years ago, my reflux problems have gotten much better. I really messed up a few weeks ago and started eating vidalia onions and dill pickles almost every night for two weeks (on soy burgers). All of a sudden the sore chest pain returned again. Last time I had this I did the Prilosec 14 day treatment plan and that cured the chest soreness.

I started the same regimen 4 days ago and have improved significantly. If you haven't tried the Prilosec treatment plan (14 days), try it. Be sure to avoid the things that can cause flareups while you are on the program.

Good luck!

That pain is probably caused by the acid irritating your air passages.
I found something that really has worked for me. It is called, Heartburn MD. As well as
Apple cyder vinager. They have done a neat treat in minimizing my acid reflux.

Hey, Like you, I know of those pains. But, I have not have that many anymore.

Anyway, try those pills. They help me and I am sure they can help you.
