aight heres how to do it lol. Ive had TONS of experiences with retention and thats how i got a sick voice plan and a 10$blackberry pearl red with no re-signing for another 3years and also a curve for 200 with re-signing for a 1year.
so basically im gonna give you something that even in-store employees dont have lol : retention's direct number : 1 888 936 7283. Its called the CSR by the way Customer Service Relations.
So yeah basically just BE NICE. They wont help you if you yell or bitch at them believe me. If youre nice theyll be nice .
Also call between 6pm and 9pm you get the night shift and theyre more likely to give you what you want because they're not the ones dealing with bitchy customers all day.

There you go and no they wont call your bluff. they want your business (as long as youre not paying 20bucks a month lol).

This is how i got :

20bucks per month :

400 anytime minutes
Unlimited rogers to rogers
Unlimited eve and weekends at 6
call display
voice mail
who called
text 2500 out unlimited in
Plus 911 fee : so its 20.69 or whatever it is a month + tax. (SAF waived)
Plus the 15 UE plan so 35.69
- 5 dollars credit for 15 UE
- 5 dollars credit for the plan
So 25.69 for the whole thing +tax

you have to be qualified as a VIP customers (meaning 100+$ per month before your first call).
And basically call at the time i said, be nice and always ask for more than they offer they will bend and bend until you feel that they wont go more and finish with a "you were so helpful thank you very much i wish more employees were like you" because their calls are recorded and they are more likely to leave a really good note about you on your account.

hehe

I asked for retentions and asked them to give me what I asked for. There was nothing they would do for me. Even when I said I can't continue paying for something that is twice my voice plan. I said I want to stay with Rogers. They couldn't offer me anything credits on my voice plan. 10+15 credit against a 27 dollars voice plan. Then a 60 dollar data plan for 25 MB. With everything they wouldn't move on the data side.
Just not worth the grief to be with them.

Ranxoren, I'm on a family plan with my gf and we have two more years left in our contract. Can I still deal with retentions? Really, all I want is early evenings at 6pm no charge, call waiting, and 2500 texts. Is that doable>

retention doesnt like Family Plans. And to be honest Family Plans are the stupidest thing ever because :
1/ For hardware upgrades you share revenue meaning that you wont both be able to get a hardware upgrade after a year. One of you will the other one will have to wait another year.
2/ You dont get to deal with retention as they dont really care about Family Plans (true story)

So yeah try and get out of that and get a plan each. If you cant then just enjoy what you got
Sorry

OK...when we have our conference I hope to hear all kinds of ****. What can I pass on in return. Need any legal advice?

Ok... So did you call up and say this is what I want, or just beg for better?

What were your bills before you went to retention?

I called 2 weeks ago, and they weren't very helpful. They tried to give me a new plan, but sign me up for another 3 years... with not hardware upgrade. I wasn't very happy.

Ranxoren,

Just wanted to find out from you. My plans are in access of $200 every month. If I call to change it to anything that is cheaper, what are my chances that they will bend to what I want. I am up for a hardware upgrade as well. Will I be able to get the device cheaper than a regular store? Any help will be appreciated

for my plan they gave me all this because they kept making mistakes on my bill EVERY MONTH. As for you just tell them what you EXACTLY need. lets say 400 day unlimited e/w 2500 texts and theyll offer you what they have, then ask for more hehe.
As for HUP, the quote for a hardware upgrade they give you in stores are just ridiculous. Then you call the rogers number and they throw in what like 50 bucks discount ? but when you call retention, yes, that is when you save money.
True story : my girlfriend was up for a HUP a month ago and she wanted the curve. So we go to the rogers store. Hi how much for a curve on my HUP please (shes been with them for 2 years, spends 150 a month and never HUPed before). The sales rep says that a curve on her HUP is 549 when the same phone on a new activation is 499. So we call in the *811 number. Ends up they offer her to match the 499. Then she tells them about how its ridiculous that theyre offering her the same price as a new client when shes been spending so much and blabla AND THEY STILL DONT WANNA DO ANYTHING. So i tell her hang up, heres the number for retention.
She calls. Talks with them for 5minutes and gets her curve for 200.

So yeah you should be able to get some stuff hehe

Retentions loves me to death. Honestly I can get anything I want from them lol. it doesn't hurt that I'm an employee and know all the ins and outs and "scams" lmao. I've gotten 4 pearls from them to date, the most recent being the 8110, plus my curve AND the best thing is I'm still on a month to month term haha. I also get an upgrade every 6 months tier AAA ($300 discount).

And ps. It's not true that in-store employees don't have relation's number. We do, we just don't like giving it out. We're very selective about who give that number to lol, mainly people we like. We get a lot of people coming into our stores complaining about their bills or w.e. Like it's our fault Rogers is charging them up the *** for a phone. Do they really think after all that we're going to be nice and give them this coveted number? Oh of course...PSYCHE!
