How to create two seperate backgrounds on a html page?

I'm looking to create the same effect as shown in this website.

Left side white background and the right side picture background with the same line breaker between them. Would I need to use a CSS sheet or something if yes could someone give me a template? Its been a long time since I did any webdesign!
lol i should have looked at the source i hadnt realised it was a single background image thank you!
 
All that is is a background with a face on it.
