How to create a analog joystick style click function, Javascript for HTML?

Hi. I'm doing a little website project which has a map that the user can browse by using Left, Right, Up, Down, NW, NE, SE, SW buttons...

Would it be possible, using javascript, to have a central object which the user can move like a joystick analog stick to explore the map?

I would be grateful for any response? Thanks, Aiden.
