How to cook jasmine rice?

Is there any secret to cooking jasmine rice? I follow the directions on the package but my rice always seems overcooked on the outside, and too firm/not cooked on the inside. I dont have this problem when cooking regular white rice. The package says to bring the water to a boil, add rice, cover, and lower the temperature to "low" for 20 minutes. I dunno what I could be doing wrong... :-/
