How to cook canned foods?

I know this sounds kind of stupid, but I've never cooked before, and I was wondering how to cook canned foods. I am serving canned carrots and canned peas, and I've never cooked them before. Could anyone tell me how to do it, and maybe some recipes?

Thank you so much.

For the carrots, heat them up in a small saucepan with a little bit of butter or margarine and some brown sugar.

For the peas, I would just heat in a saucepan as is. Garnish with a little salt and pepper.

You can simply put in a pot juice and all and heat to boiling and then serve. I usually drain off most of the liquid and sometimes all depending how it smells to me and then i add water and chicken bullion, maybe some butter and then the seasoning of my choice.
For peas i would just drain some of the liquid and use butter and salt and pepper and for the carrots i would drain and rinse then add a little water and lots of butter and maybe a bit of brown sugar and salt and pepper. For green beans that's when i use the water and chicken broth and sometimes a bit of slivered almonds. My mom always told me its important to bring canned things to a boil just for safety sake. Congrats on your trying new things, i think you are going to love cooking its addictive and there is so much help online. try all recipes.com or go to youtube and type what you want to cook and there more than likely is a video. LOL.

well shoot, I would start off easy. If using 2 cans, i always drain one can and keep the water in one can. Place both cans and the juice from one can in a bowl. Add about 1/4 cup butter and seasoning to taste and microwave, stirring occasionally until butter is completely melted and veggies are warm through out. Best of luck to you!
