Hey there..
I have a Mac, a TV and some cords. The first converts the video out on the macbook to hdmi. The next one that plugs in goes from HDMI to 15 pin VGA for the back of my 46PP9302 Phillips rear projection LCD which is old school HD-TV. I've gone through all the TV settings and nothing gets the Mac screen up on the TV screen. What de heck?
Also, I've been trying a similar thing with my DVD player (phillips 3960). I'm using the cord that goes from HDMI, for the back of the DVD player, and converts to VGA for the back of the TV. No picture, no dice. The "HDMI setup" on the menu for the DVD player stays greyed out. It is not picking up a display, I think.
