How to connect bluetooth to iPod Touch?

My iPod Touch is more of the 3g's, but it's the 8gb iPod Touch. I'm trying to connect my brother's bluetooth to my iPod touch. My iPod Touch isn't detecting it though. My brother's bluetooth is for his cell phone also. The brand of his bluetooth is Plantronics Explorer 220.
I went on to Setting/General/Bluetooth/On. But it's not detecting the bluetooth once again. And yes I turned on the bluetooth.
Why isn't my iPod Touch detecting the bluetooth?
