How to choreograph a simple group dance?

Our class got a assignment to create a simple dance. It can be any style and any music. My group has 10 members (5 guys and 5 girls). It doesn't have to be complicated at all but we have a very limited amount of time to design and practice the dance.

Where do I get started? I was thinking of doing a modern pop type of dance.
