Recently I bought a HTC desire phone from Ebay and am wondering if I am sold a duplicate or un genuine phone. The box label says made in China but doesn't says it is manufactured by HTC Corporation.
Any help as how to verify if my phone is Genuine from HTC?

Thanks for your help
Thanks for quick response.
The phone has HTC logo, IMEI and S/N on box, under the batter and in the phone (*#06#) are also matching with each other. Eventually who manufacturers a duplicate phones will cover all these small issues.

I am after any other ways that I can confirm if the phone is genuine or not. Do you think the staff at HTC will be able to help me out?
It is using Android OS V2.2
It costed me £350

If it is using a genuine version of Android then it should be a true Desire. Usually the Chinese clones copy the physical look but for obvious legal reasons they can't do the same with the OS.

try popping the battery cover and battery for any emblems or serial numbers, or you can also try looking through the owners' manual for any direct reference to the product, also, you should try booting the phone up to see if it shows any logos or text that in some way says it is in fact an htc phone, but just to let you know the only knock offs that i've seen are iphones (china calls them i9's) and razrs (china or whoever makes them calls them rayzorz).
