how to chat with people on ps3 with headset?

i got a jabra headset that came with warhawk, i got it registered..but now, how do you talk to people with it..on gta 4 i tried to call people but it said i needed a headset...wtf? so whats the problem?
 
maybe the other people don't have a headset.
i know when i get on theres not many people talking.
 
ok go to accessory settings on the XMB and go to voice changer if you see the that there is sound being heard from the headset reset your ps3 and your headset...it just might work....
