I have a 2001 Dodge Dakota with the towing package and a 4.7L V8, I need to change the diff fluid in the truck because I suspect it is no longer doing its job. I pretty much know what I am doing as I did it in my car the other day as well as a precaution. The car, however, had a drain and fill plug whereas I am not seeing this on the truck. So, I need to know step by step on this model on how to do this. I am pretty sure removing the entire back plate is going to be in order along with resealing with silicon so just shoot if you know how!
Also, can you point me in the right direction as to which diff gear oil to use? I was thinking the Syncromesh Valvoline 75winter 80. Is this correct?
