How to Change Adjacent Colors in Game Maker 7?

Okay.

OGBROGBOYY
BGYOCBYCOY
BYOCCRRYBB
BRCOCOCOBR
OOBGCYCOCY
OGCCROBYGR

Start in the top left corner.
Now. Say i pressed the 'B' button. How do i change the 'O' to a 'B' and then press 'O' again and turn all of the connected 'B's starting in the top left corner all blue. So after all of this it would look like this:

OGBROGBOYY
OGYOCBYCOY
OYOCCRRYBB
ORCOCOCOBR
OOBGCYCOCY
OGCCROBYGR

And then continue with all of the other colors?
