how to cancle maintenance required lighe on a 2005 toyota rav4 after an oil change?

Put your keys in the ignition. dont turn it yet. Hold down the button that resets the mileage. while holding it turn the car on. keep holding it until it starts to flash. then it will turn off. if its a check engine light. disconnect the neg terminal from your battery for about 10 minutes then reconnect it.
