I don't know how to calculate the % composition for this question on the textbook:
An unknown substance that contained carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen underwent a combustion reaction in the presence of an excess of oxygen. The products of the reaction were analyzed and the following data were obtained:
Mass of Original Sample: 42.705g
Mass of Carbon Dioxide Collected: 62.59g
Mass of Water collected: 25.62g
Molar mass of compound (from mass spectrometer): 150.13g
Please show steps, I have the answers at the back of my textbook but they never explain how they got that answers...
