My husband and I are recently married, and we currently live in a small, one bedroom apartment. We've saved a lot of money (also, people have died and left us inheritances in the past few years). In all, we have enough to now purchase a new home. However, I have my heart set on this home that's NOT for sale! It was a my late grandparents house previous to the one they lived in prior to their nursing home. As a child, I LOVED this house, and I know in my heart I have to live there. It's the ideal location for us (near a school should we have children, near a church, quiet, etc...). Should we confront the homeowners and ask them if they'd consider selling for $10 000+ more than their value, or should we just wait til it goes up for sale (which will be years). Money is not a problem (when my grandparents died, they left a large sum to me, and I had it saved in an account, collecting interest, for about 8 years). What should we do? I know it sounds immature, but the sentimental value of this home and the location make it perfect...I just have to have that house! HELP!!
it's the sentimental value of the home. It holds a lot of family memories, and I would love to build new ones with my family.
