How to boost or have better range for xbox 360 and computer internet?

I am having problems connecting to the internet on my xbox console. I am in my room when i play and it is kind of a "dead zone." So to speak, is there anything i can do to boost the range, make the signal stronger or anything. Whether i have to buy something or just adjust something. My connection is normally 1-2 bars on my xbox and sometimes 0. On my computer it is 3-4. Also, i have the new slim xbox 360 250gb hard drive
