hey all, noob here, i have a bb8330. i have the voice and sms working, no data, i have installed service books with no luck. under mobile networks it still says verizon wireless. should it say that? maybe someone out there knows what i have done wrong. this forum is great and has gotten me this far but i have done hours and hours of searching and can't seem to find a solution.

Ok I know someone in here can help me..thank you ahead of time. I got the bb 9530 storm and got talk and text working. I know this site is loaded with info but i'm some how missing the details of what i need. I geuss what im looking for is the cricket service books. I got some books but still isn't going right. So if Tony of someone could help me out here. Im not brand new to the flashing thing but this bb is making me feel like i never flashed a phone before in my life...lol I really miss my HTC'S already!!!!!!

I am just about ready to pull my hair out on this one. I have a few Sprint BB 8330 which I am attempting to FULL FLASH to Cricket.

##000000 Does not work, so yeah, I need to find the SPC Code. I am stuck on the first level of this, and its p*ssing me the f*ck off cause I cannot get the SPC.

yes, it is connected to the BB Desktop manager... ESN Shows and all.
Minimized that so it is running.

UniPST: Does not connect to it at all.
QXDM 2.08: Does not connect to it. (error: 3.60.3714.5 or newer of DAO360.dll needed. Wtf??)
QPST 2.7: Build 355 sees the phone as 7fffff and does not connect. Although, this sees it on Ports 8 & 9. I do not seem to have SURF6300bb as someone mentioned somewhere in this post... and I have cycled thru all available BB "surf*'s I had. No connection.

I do not have CDMA workshop with me at home or I would have this done by now. Will the trial do the SPC Unlock?

Also I might want to let everyone know I am on Windows Vista Home Premium (insert frown here, work laptop.. so yeah..) 32bit.

If anyone wishes to give me a hand here, any anticipated help will be greatly appreciated. I seem to have 3 pages full of notes and not a single lead. (I will scan just to prove my endeavors.)

UPDATE:

UniCDMA (v1.095) sees the phone:

Mode: Qualcomm
Com: 2
Mode: offline-D

Went to read memory to retrieve SPC, but it says Read error at address 0x1067ED90.

i have been trying to use Qpst, and when i click write to phone, trying to load the PRL the program says "the phone model on com port 11 has changed, do you wish to abort this connection?"

then i click no and it finishes, but then says (picture below)

Don't worry it worked, just ignore the error. I flash all my BB's with QPST and it does it every time... some people will say not to use QPST, but I've done 100+ and never had a problem.

I lost a post! There was a post beginning from scratch on how to flash a blackberry to cricket. I have a Blackberry 8330 that I would like to flash, hopefully with mms capabilities. There was a thread that I found earlier with detail of the info I would need to google for codes I guess and everything. I'm a pretty good techy person, just need the start up. I live in charlotte, nc so i'm in cricket area and there is a guy here that can supposedly fully flash my phone. He said he could flash the phone to where i could get web, mms, and text. and email through something called logic mail? he could also get me instant messaging through IM+. Anyone know if this is true or not. I know I sound very ignorant on this subject but I'm new to this. Just want the best advice. he woudl charge me $60 but i was on here because I wanted to see if I could just do it myself. PLEASE HELP! i was trying to locate that thread...

obviously you have not corrupted an esn...keep working at it and you will find some models that will not like qpst...mostly older BBs

enjoy

lmfao

time to get reimbursed for cost of BB when he cannot flash it and corrupts spc

i have a 7290...can you do that with qpst? the spc is already "000000" and needs to be that after the flash

I don't mean to sound rude or like I am picking on you but... I could have gotten a Curve for what you bought that old phone for.

Second, Randomwit is correct. It looks like you flashed one with QPST and it corrupted the SPC. I have done that as well.

For the most part you can with Pearls and above. But the 7250, 7130, etc. will corrupt the SPC

Could you please help a newbie? I understand if you dont, im lost..

First, let me say i have searched this entire forum before posting this...

I was told by cricket that when I travel I would have to manually load the PRL to where I am going or get an old cricket phone, pay the $15 and upon returning home, another $15 to reactivate Pearl. (I hate being poor) I went through this last month after buying an old BB 7130 and traveling to Ft lauderdale Florida only to be stranded with out a phone that worked..the phone works fine in my home area but not when I travel cause when *228 or any variation is called, it will not program/forward PRL..

*I imagine I need to find the PRL files for florida to load via QPST. (I used to flash)

* My plan includes roaming and PEC.

* Do I have to load the PRL files while im still in the home my area or wait till im in Florida?

* I understand that *228 OTASP will not work because will be roaming on another network.

Is it possible to advise if this can be done or do people with BB flashed to cricket just never leave their home calling area with that handset?
