How to: BlackBerry to Cricket 8830 or any other BB

i used qxdm to upload the prl onto the 8830. when i go to the about menu it says that the prl is there, but when i call *228 it still goes to the verizon activation..
can anyone help me?
i also did this for the chocolate 2 but using qpst and i got the same result
 
I flashed my Blackberry 8830WE to Cricket by doing the following:

1. Installed Blackberry modem drivers (select modem drivers) https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22

2. Installed Blackberry Desktop Manager (same link as above, just select the latest version), connected Blackberry 8830, and left running

3. Opened windows device manager and found correct com ports.

4. Opened CDMA Workshop. On Main tab (on top), connected to com ports found in step 3, then clicked "Connect", then "Read".

5. Clicked Security tab (on top) and clicked "SPC>Write 000000"

6. Clicked Other tab (on top). In the PRL section, clicked "Write", then pointed to my PRL file (05544) and hit open

7. Went to Cricket and activated for $15

Thats It!

No MMS or WAP though. I'm a noob! Anyone have instructions for WAP and MMS on Blackberry 8830WE?

I have looked up and down everywhere on google for a solution to fully flash the blackberry's with WAP and MMS. Any help out there.
 
I actually had this problem today with a guys phone. Believe it or not I changed prl and worked fine. I had 1050 evdo prl and changed to nationwide universal 1042 and for some reason it worked. That was the first time I tried to use evdo prl and will be the last. Give it a shot and let us know. Of course you may just need to have your text refreshed but Cricket CS.
 
Ok, We have established that those of us that can follow instructions can flash. My problem in the bb help thread was that the phones had an IT Policy on them. They could only call a certain prefix. I got the policy.bin file did a regedit and fixed that.

I would like to thank terrordrone for the hands on training.

We have flashed our alltel BB 8330's to cricket and have activated them using qpst 2.7. Connect it, pick the surf BB thing and then set the spc to 000000. Then go to the roaming tab and load the PRL. I used the EVDO 38515. We have connected 2 of these to cricket. You have to have the desktop manager running to do this, and if you are having com port troubles with desktop manager running, I would suggest reading a com port tutorial.

WAP & MMS. Please. This is for no compensation on my part, maybe in the future, but i gave on to my chick and she would be very happy if I could get this to work.

followed the instructions to the letter. ive flashed a lot of different phones but never a bb to cricket. running desktop manager then opening qxdm 3.09.19 running it off com 4 and com 5 but just shows waiting as the response.. any ideas?

I have a BB 8330 that is fully flashed to Cricket, I have read other post's that you can install Opera mini for a browser. I have loaded the program to my phone, the Opera App is there but it starts to install and near the end i get a error message = Failed to connect to the Internet. My internet is working from cricket

Is there a work around for this?? Has anyone installed Opera mini on a BB for Cricket??
