Hello, my friends dad was recently diagnosed with a life threatening disease, and needs a bone marrow transplant. (for the record, if from Canada, you just need to go to onematch.ca, sign up for a swab kit, in a week it comes in the mail, you swab your mouth, send it back in and you've joined the registry, it'd be great if you do this ps.)
My friend has gone to many bone marrow drives and has organized a few himself. But a match has still not been found. Anyways, we were talking today and thought, 'why not bike back and forth across Canada until 10,000 new registrants joined?' It's obviously still just a thought, but how would you raise awareness? Would news stations cover that story? Also, we aren't rich, so could we get sponsored for meals? What companies sponsor that kind of thing? Is it just an all around bad idea? Any thoughts are appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
