You just click on the "Chat" box at the bottom with the green dot that says you're online. Then, click "options" at the top of the box. Then click "Offline". Recently, this has not been working and it will not let me say that I'm offline. If people keep talking to you, just ignore it if you don't want to talk since the offline button may not work anyway. Hopefully Facebook knows about this.
