HI..I am not an American, and I am going to pursue my postgraduate degree in the US in a couple of years. I major in mechanism, and my dream is to be a top mechanic in a great racing team. I am just a amateur and know only limited knowledge now. And i got many used bikes when i was in middle school such as piaggio 80, nsr125, tdr125,tzr250,and many others. I really don't know where to start. I've made up my mind that I will take professional auto repair courses in my home country before I leave for the US. But..you know..this seems to be inadequate to be a mechanic in a racing team. I just want to hear your suggestion about how can I become a professional mechanic in a famous racing team(say, moto GP..or formular 1)in the US. ...and..don';t ask me to take some professional courses in the US, coz i know that must be very very expensive and i am not a millionnaire. YOu know,.,the tuition in the postgraduation education is already a heavy financial burden to me...
ok..if professional schooling is a must..how much does that cost... and..you know..can a postgraduate degree in certain field offer the same knowledge...

I don't know about anywhere else but in the country I am in, generally you start off as an apprentice working for a head mechanic. You then have to work you way up learning from someone who is experienced in working on race bikes. Very occasionally here a job will be advertised for an apprenticeship to a team, but usually any position is very much coverted so they are few and far between.
