Honestly, be good at drill. If you want to be a outstanding recruit and Marine be in tip top shape 20 pull ups, 100 crunches in 2 mins and an 18 minute 3 mile , qualify expert on the rifle range, be motovated, and a good leader. If you can do all that you will be in the running for honor grad. But if you aren't very good at drill, then I highly doubt you will be guide. Maybe honor grad, but most of the time the guide is honor grad. Don't worry so much about what you do in boot camp, worry about what you do when you get to the fleet, because that's where it counts. Just remember this a Marines "true colors" start to show at MOS school, sometimes even as early as MCT. So just remember that. Good luck, stay moto, and don't worry boot camp will seem easy once you graduate lol. Oh by the way you will get an award at boot camp graduation if you get the highest PFT or highest rifle score
