How to ask a girl to a dance?

Tolo is coming up at my school (which is a semi-formal dance) and i need a way to ask this girl that i really like to the dance. But at the same time i dont want her to know that i like her, cuz im waiting for the perfect moment to tell her. So any suggestions??

Well, when a guy asks a girl to a dance, it's sort of assumed that he likes her, else why would he ask?

It's pretty easy, "Hello _____, I was wondering if you would like to go to the dance with me?"
