How to add a html to group description on the home page?

I have tried to add a marquee html to my home page description area and after saving the changes it seems to be working with the next page that opens up - but - it only shows the html code when you go to the home page??!! help
 
the home page is the only one you can modify

so if you put in an html script for the homepage, it'll mak the homepage look great... but if you then click anywhere else in the group, you won't see it
 
maybe the code isn't just right- the color below is red, you can edit that to a different color
