How sucessful are "service connected disable veteran-ed owned small businesses?

Me and my father are both service connected disable vets and we own a construction company. We just recently applied for the SCDVOSB certification and I was curious how much of a difference it actually makes because from what Ive read it seems too good to be true. After trying to research the success rates of SCDVOSB members I wasn't able to find much. Thanks guys for the help
