How strong is Russia's military these days?

I would imagine it's pretty outdated but I don't really have a clue. How do you think Russia's military would fare against the British military? The last conflict I know of between Britain and Russia was the Crimean war and we Brits (along side with our allies of course) won that, but that was like 150 years ago.
I mean how strong is it without nukes?

Although it is now just Russia instead of the USSR... it is still pretty stong. It has nukes.
