How soon after you have sex will you get a accurate pregnancy test?

I had sex last Thursday as we are trying for our second child. I started spotting two days ago and am wondering if I am pregnant or not. I feel like I am but always could not be. I don't have any symptoms. I couldn't tell you when my period is supposed to be since my periods are soo irregular. We had unprotected sex on Thursday the 25th and Saturday the 27th. (I keep track of those days because my last pregnancy my drs didn't beleive me when I told them the days we had sex and their dates put me two weeks ahead of when we had sex to get pregnant! I ended up going two weeks late too on my first.

Thanks!

It really has nothing to do with when you last had sex (although that matters!) as it does when your last period was, how long your cycle is and your ovulation schedule. Most home pregnancy test instruction kits recommend waiting until 8 - 11 days after ovulation or after the first day of your missed period.

will if you want an accurate test, wait until your period is suppose to be and your about a day or two late. Then take the test.

After sex...you could wait about a week or two, but it was said, on the health channel, that a woman should wait until 4 weeks to determine if they are pregnant or not. it is possible to take it too early and get a neg. read.
hope it helps...continue having fun, the more you do the bigger the chance...

everyone says two weeks after but everyone is different alot of people don't get a positive til later than two weeks after sex i know a few people who could not get a positive pee test until they were around 8 weeks pregnant. so it all depends .wait til your period is actually late. then test. if your still unsure get a blood test from the doc! good luck!

If that spotting is due to implantation, you can test in as little as a week afterwards.
