how should i wear a light denim vest?

well i got this new vest for my birthday and i don't know how to wear it. i don't think it will look good with light denim at all but what will it go with? will it look weird if i wear it with dark denim? i don't want to make it look ugly =[
 
how about wearing it with something like the girl in the picture is? AND NEVER WEAR IT WITH ANYTHING ELSE DENIM! Unless it is black denim
 
Denim stuff for the top is always hard. Whatever you do, don't wear any type of denim on the bottom with the denim vest. Some cute white shorts would look REALLY good with it. But, I think cotton skirts would look relaly good too. Like a white ruffle skirt, yellow, long tank, and that vest unbuttoned would look really cute! For tops, I think tanks look relaly good with it, as long as they're bright colors. I also think TIGHT Vneck tops look really good with it! You can also wear it with a long pink tank, black leggings, yellow flats, and that vest. That would look super cute!
