ACCD is ranked everywhere as one of the best art schools in US, up there with RISD and CalArts. Such ranking would in most cases imply intense competition in admission, but the acceptance rate of ACCD (somewhere around 70%) seems abnormally high, much higher than even the lesser colleges. Two ways I can account for it are (1) It's not as good a school as it seems (2) People just don't apply there. I'd appreciate it if someone could explain why this supposedly awesome program seems (at least statistically) easy to get in.
