How should I spend my backpacking trip in Taiwan?

I am thinking of doing my first backpacking trip in Taiwan... My main reasons for this trip are to:

1.) Buy a cheap gaming laptop - do local shopping stores sell Gaming laptops? I'm not too picky with processors and looks, but a good gaming GPU is needed. Where can I find the sweetest deal?

2.) Visit buildings with architectural values - I really want to see Taipei 101 and National Palace Museum, as well as the modern malls and old temples.

3.) Stay in this country with the least budget. Since this is my first backpacking, I am still unsure of how much should my budget be for food, trips and souvenirs. I plan to just spend $200 (budget for buying laptop, air fare and accommodations are deducted). However, I am not limited to that.

I need to know where exactly to go, how much should I bring and where should I buy?

I also want to confirm if Taiwan's laptop prices are cheaper compared to US. My main agenda is to BUY A CHEAP GAMING LAPTOP. (sorry for caps lock text, I just want to emphasize...). Of course, I would buy it a Taiwan based brand...

My trip would be on May and it will be a three days, two nights stay in Taipei, but I can go anywhere that the train can reach... Thank you!
