Does anyone have suggestions for dealing with my 17 year old daughter when she tells me to shut up or that she doesn't want to look at my face? If I give her my opinion on anything and it is not what she wants to hear, she gets argumentative. I try to give her my advise as nicely and gently as possible but she puts words in my mouth and turns it around and says things that I didn't say. She thinks that she knows everything. When she talks so disrespectfully I do not respond but I don't know if this is the best example to set for her brother to see. Of course my husband never says anything to support me even if he's sitting right there. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
