I live in a "cosy" unit with an open kitchen and a small combined lounge/dining area. Currently the unit is covered in blue industrial carpet (with parquetry underneath and dents where there is missing parquetry and the open kitchen is covered in big white (drummy) tiles. I believe it was a budget renovation. I would like to remove the carpet from the lounge/dining area and the hallway and replace it with timber/bamboo/floating floor. I'll change the bedrooms later with a quality carpet as I'm on a budget but i don't want it to look cheap. I would like advice on: what is recommended for a unit ( top floor) ? should i pull out the tiles and have that replaced with the timber/bamboo/floating floor so the entire kitchen/lounge/dining is the same flooring or leave it drummy and have it "break" up the 2 rooms. Any advice would be appreciated
