I am hoping to be able to hike the Appalachian Trail next year. While finances prevent me from thru-hiking the AT, I am planning on section-hiking, with my first trip lasting about a month. My problem is I have no idea where to begin and was hoping for some advice from people who have hiked the AT before. I am thinking mid-May to mid-June is the time frame I'm looking at, and I live in Texas right now. What would be a good starting and ending point with adequate transportation, nice scenery, not-too-challenging terrain, and good weather for that time of year? Thanks in advance.
