court/driving school? I got a speeding ticket in February on a small country road where I live. I was going 60 in a 35, which I know I shouldn't have done, but I was extremely upset that day. I obviously regret doing that now.
Anyways, I have to go to traffic court on Wednesday to contest my ticket because I pleaded not guilty in hopes that the cop would not show up in court and I wouldn't have to pay.
My dad just lost over 20% of his pay and I will be going to an expensive college next year. It would be difficult for us to handle paying $300+ in court fees and for the ticket, if the cop shows up. I know I need to "pay" for what I did, but I don't want my parents to have to go through financial burden because of me. I would get a job to pay for it, but I don't have time for anything other than school.
I was wondering if there was any way I could get the court/driving school/ticket fees waived. Could I pay for driving school and perhaps get a refund after completing the course? Or could I do something else, like community service?
Thanks for the help!
I live in Alabama, btw.
