How should I fish this small lake during pre-spawn?

I fish a small lake by my house and its been tough during the pre-spawn this year, i caught a couple small fish on a rattletrap and a jerkbait. I can't seem to find the bigger fish or good amounts of fish. Any idea on what I could try? I can easily walk around the whole lake in a days fishing just to give you an idea of how big it it.
